We look forward to a great 2022-2023 season!

Update

Hope this message finds you well and that you and your families are having a great summer!

UAGG Tryout dates and times are posted here.

Please remember, UAGG play is a year-long commitment vs a season.

Eligibility is based on a player's age on January 1, 2023.

We will extend a few early offers to players based on their performance this season.  We will ask those players to continue being team players, attending 1-2 tryouts to support and encourage their peers.

Most UAGG players will try out for the 2022-2023 rosters.  Please note, this is the hardest part of the job... as we are working with a player's heart, but in a Select/Travel environment, tryouts are necessary.  A select/travel team is about the collective and not the individual player.  Some players will make the team and some will not.  We ask that all families be cognizant, kind, and understanding.  We also ask that those who receive offers, keep that to themselves so a teammate does not feel left out.  This is hard... and we will do it with all the care and compassion in the world.

At this time and based on the information we have, we anticipate fielding (1) 8U, (2) 10U, (2) 12U, (1) 14U, (1) 16U, and (1) 18U.  We are asking a number of 10 and 12U current players to try out – not because we couldn’t extend that player an early offer – but in the hopes to find the best balance for each team and the chance to look at specialized positions, for the upcoming year.

__________________________

Specific to the 16 and 18U: As many know our 2022-2023 season tryouts are coming up. It's an exciting time to be a Golden Glove!  Over the past few seasons, we have pulled younger birth years up to maintain continuity in the rosters. However, this year will mark a transition for our 16U and 18U teams requiring our families to become acclimated to the advanced responsibilities of travel softball.  These teams will focus on a higher level of competition in tournaments and in several instances focus on college recruitment-based tournaments. In contrast, other area organizations focus mainly on leagues and tournaments that reach just above rec/all-star caliber teams.

In order to perform at this level of travel, ball players will need to consider the investment required and engage with external work. This includes private hitting and/or fielding coaches as well as catching/pitching coaches for those so designated. UAGG has several of each coach to refer you to should you need, whose coaching methods match those of our program.

___________________________

The last date for tryouts is August 13th.  It is our hope that all offers will be extended before school begins on August 16th.  All teams will begin game play, in the last week of August (via Mannino's or Bear Cub/8U).

Thank you so much!

Anticipated Cost

The annual cost per player is anticipated, $700 (8U) - $995 (16/18U).  Players try out, receive an offer, and accept the offer paying a deposit of $250.  The balance can then be made in 4 monthly payments.  Additionally, UAGG will hold fundraisers over the course of the year to contribute to player fees.
